Description: The UP-H2 monoclonal antibody recognizes human IREM-2 (immune receptor expressed in monocytic derived cells) also known as LMIR6, and unofficially CD300E and CD300LE. It is a member of the CMRF-35 family. This 34 kDa Ig-like containing receptor is an activating receptor and through it’s charged residues in the cytokplasmic domain interacts with ITAM containing adaptor proteins like DAP12. Expression is found exclusively on monocytes and myeloid DC’s. Expression may be transient as differentiation of monocytes leads to down regulation of IREM-2 yet expression is found on mature DCs. It has been also noted that myeloid cell lines such as THP-1 and U937 do not express IREM-2.
In vitro addition of UP-H2 antibody either soluble or crosslinked stimulates monocytes.
