Resistin, also known as adipocyte-specific secretory factor (ADSF) and found in inflammatory zone 3 (FIZZ3), is an adipocyte-derived protein. Mature mouse and human Resistin share 56% amino acid sequence identity. Northern blot analysis shows that Resistin is expressed in mouse adipose tissue, and its expression is markedly induced during adipocyte differentiation of 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cells.

Product Summary:
The Quantikine Mouse Resistin Immunoassay is a 4.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed to measure mouse Resistin in cell culture supernates, mouse serum, and plasma. It contains E. coli-expressed recombinant mouse Resistin and antibodies raised against the recombinant factor. This immunoassay has been shown to accurately quantitate the recombinant factor. Results obtained using natural mouse Resistin showed linear curves that were parallel to the standard curves obtained using the Quantikine kit standards. These results indicate that this kit can be used to determine relative mass values for naturally occurring mouse Resistin.
Precision:
Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay)Three samples of known concentration were tested on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays)Three samples of known concentration were tested in separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.
The recovery of mouse Resistin spiked to three levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated.

Linearity:
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples containing high concentrations of mouse Resistin in each matrix were diluted with Calibrator Diluent and then assayed.
