Human MIP-1 beta (macrophage inflammatory protein 1 beta) is the product of several independently cloned cDNAs including Act 2, PAT 744, hH400, G26, HIMAP, HC21, and MAD-5a. MIP-1 beta is a member of the CC or beta chemokine subfamily that was originally purified from the conditioned media of an LPS-stimulated murine macrophage cell line. MIP-1 beta is expressed primarily by T cells, B cells, and monocytes after antigen or mitogen stimulation. The functional receptor for MIP-1 beta has been identified as CCR5.

Product Summary:
The Quantikine Mouse MIP-1 beta Immunoassay is a 4.5 hour solid phase ELISA designed to measure mouse MIP-1 beta levels in cell culture supernates, serum, and plasma. It contains E. coli-expressed recombinant mouse MIP-1 beta and antibodies raised against the recombinant factor. This immunoassay has been shown to quantitate the recombinant mouse MIP-1 beta accurately. Results obtained using natural mouse MIP-1 beta showed dose response curves that were parallel to the standard curves obtained using the recombinant standards. These results indicate that this kit can be used to determine relative mass values for natural mouse MIP-1 beta.
Precision:
Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay)Three samples of known concentration were tested on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays)Three samples of known concentration were tested in separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.

Recovery:
The recovery of mouse MIP-1 beta spiked to three levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated.

Linearity:
To assess the linearity of the assay, five or more samples containing and/or spiked with various concentrations of mouse MIP-1 beta in each matrix were diluted with Calibrator Diluent and then assayed.
