Background:CCL17/TARC (Thymus and Activation Regulated Chemokine)
Thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC) is a novel CC chemokine identified using a signal sequence trap method. Among CC chemokine family members, TARC has approximately 24 - 29% amino acid sequence identity with RANTES, MIP-1 alpha, MIP-1 beta, MCP-1, MCP-2, MCP-3 and I-309. TARC is constitutively expressed in thymus, and at a lower level in lung, colon, and small intestine.

Product Summary:
The Quantikine Mouse TARC Immunoassay is a 4.5 hour solid phase ELISA designed to measure mouse TARC levels in cell culture supernates, serum, and plasma. It contains E. coli-expressed recombinant mouse TARC and antibodies raised against the recombinant factor. Results obtained for naturally occurring mouse TARC showed linear curves that were parallel to the standard curves obtained using the kit standards. These results indicate that this kit can be used to determine relative mass values for natural mouse TARC.
Precision:
Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay)Three samples of known concentration were tested on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays)Three samples of known concentration were tested in separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.

Recovery:
The recovery of mouse TARC spiked to three levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated.

Linearity:
To assess the linearity of the assay, five or more samples containing and/or spiked with various concentrations of mouse TARC in each matrix were diluted with Calibrator Diluent and assayed.
