Background:CXCL16
CXC chemokine ligand 16 (CXCL16) is a type I membrane protein that has a non-ELR CXC chemokine domain in its extracellular region. Fractalkine (CX3CL1) and CXCL16 constitute the only two transmembrane chemokines. Mouse and human CXCL16 share 70% amino acid sequence similarity within their chemokine domains and 49% overall amino acid sequence identity.

Specificity:Detects human CXCL16 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In Western blots, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human CXCL1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12/SDF-1 alpha,12/SDF-1 beta, 13, recombinant mouse CXCL1, 2, 6, 9, 10, 12/SDF-1 alpha, 13, 16, recombinant rat CXCL1, 2, 3/CINC-2 alpha, 3/CINC-2 beta, recombinant canine CXCL8, or recombinant porcine CXCL8 is observed.
