The 12-Tube Magnet can be used for 6xHis-tagged–protein magnetocapture assays or purification procedures performed with Ni-NTA Magnetic Agarose Beads. The magnet consists of a series of 12 powerful NdFeB (neodymium-iron-boron) magnetic disks. Each magnetic disk attracts the beads in a 1.5 ml or 2 ml tube fitted in an adjacent hole. After capture of 6xHis-tagged proteins, the magnetic beads are pulled to the side of the tubes and kept in place while buffers are exchanged.
