PHP168 is a 28.8 kDa recombinant protein corresponding to amino acid residues 316 to 431 of the full-length human bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7) precursor.
BMP-7, also known as Osteogenic protein 1 (OP-1), is a disulphide-linked homodimeric cysteine knot protein and one of a growing number of osteogenic proteins shown to induce bone and cartilage formation and to play an important role in developmental processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis and morphogenesis.
Target Species
Human
Product Form
Purified recombinant protein - lyophilised
Preparation
Purified recombinant BMP-7 expressed in CHO cells.
Preservative Stabilisers
None present
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.1ml distilled water.
Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. AbD Serotec recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution.
Purity
>98% by SDS PAGE/HPLC analysis
Activity
Determined by its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC-5 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.02-0.04 ug/ml.
Approx. Protein Concentrations
Total protein concentration 0.1mg/ml after reconstitution.
