HCA079 recognises human cytokeratin 19 (CK19), which is the smallest acidic type I intermediate filament with a molecular weight of 40kD. The intermediate filaments are generally expressed as heterodimers at the cell surface. Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) is often co-expressed with cytokeratin 8 (CK8). Cytokeratin 19 is widely expressed in simple epithelium, the basal cells of squamous epithelium and some carcinomas.
Product Form
A bivalent human recombinant Fab selected from the HuCAL® GOLD phage display library, expressed inE. coli. This Fab fragment is dimerized via a helix-turn-helix motif. The antibody is tagged with a myc-tag (EQKLISEEDL) and a his-tag (HHHHHH) at the C-terminus of the antibody heavy chain. This antibody is supplied lyophilised.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
