HCA018 recognises Basonuclin 2, a putative transcription factor specific for skin keratinocytes. Basonuclin 2 is localised to the nucleus, and is highly expressed in testis, uterus and small intestine, along with skin keratinocytes. Recent data have shown Basonuclin 2 to co-localize with SC35, suggesting a possible function in nuclear processing of mRNA.
