The Texas Red® 70,000 MW lysine-fixable dextran conjugated with the zwitterionic Texas Red® dye has excitation/emission maxima of ~595/615 nm and contains lysines and can therefore be fixed in place with formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde. This dextran is essentially neutral. Dextrans are biologically inert hydrophilic polysaccharides that are used in a wide variety of applications including neuronal tracing, fluid transport, intracellular communication, cell lineage tracing, probing membrane permeability and endocytosis.
