Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Glu105 of mouse α-synuclein protein.
Description
This Cell Signaling Technology antibody is conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 555 fluorescent dye and tested in-house for direct immunofluorescent analysis in rat brain. The antibody is expected to exhibit the same species cross-reactivity as the unconjugated α-Synuclein (D37A6) XP® Rabbit mAb #4179.

Background
α-Synuclein is a protein of 140-amino acids expressed abundantly in the brain. α-Synuclein is also the main component of pathogenic Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites. Research studies have shown that mutations of the α-synuclein gene are linked to Parkinson's disease (1).
