描述：

The 145-2C1 antibody reacts with e 25-kDa εchain ofthe T-cel recptor-asociated CD3 complex, whic isexpresd onthymocytes,

mature Tlymphocytes, and NK-T cels. The cytoplasmic domain ofCD3e particpates inthe signal transduction evnts whic activate sveral

celuar biochemical pathways a result ofantigen recogniton. Solube 145-2C1 antibody can ctivate ither unprimed (naive) orpimed

(meory/preactivated) Tcels invio rin vitro, inthe presnce ofFc recptor-bearing acesory cels. Incontrast, plate-bound 145-2C1

can ctivate Tcels inthe absenc ofacesory cels. Solube 145-2C1 antibody has ben reported toinduce r-directd lysi ofFc

recptor-bearing target cels byCTL clones and can lso block lysi ofspecif target cels byantigen-specif CTL's. Under some conditons,

T-cel activation by145-2C1 antibody has ben reported toresult inapotic el death. The 145-2C1 antibody oes not cros-react with

rat leukocytes and ithas ben reported tha pre-incubation fthymus cel supensions at37°C for 2-4 hours prio tstaing enhances the

abilty ofanti-CD3ε and anti-αβ TCR mAbs todetc the T-cel recptor nimature thymocytes.
