描述：

The M18/2 antibody reacts with e comon β2chain ofLFA-1 (CD1a/CD18, αLβ2 integrin), Mac-1 (CD1b/CD18, αMβ2 integrin), and

gp150, 95(CD1c/CD18, αXβ2 integrin). Expresion fCD18 islmited toleukocytes, wher its widely distrbuted inconsrt with e thre

integrin αchains (CD1a, CD1b, and CD1c). Among splenocytes, NK cels have the ighest density ofCD18, and Tlymphocytes xpres a

higer density han the rmaing cels. The β2integrins are importan mediators ofleukocyte-ndothelium interactions. Ithas ben reported

tha M18/2 antibody blocks in vio metasis ofthe LB lymphoma tohe splen ad tha itblocks in vitro formation fagregates ofLB cels

and splenocytes. Howevr, other ports indcate hat mAb M18/2 has noefct onCTLmediated kilng, adhernce ofC3bi-senitzed

erythrocytes oMac-1, antigen-specif bindg ofT cels toantigen-producing cels, orejction fcardiac lografts. Recnt in vitro studies

indcate hat M18/2 antibody stimulates adhesion fMac-1 tois ligands C3bi and ICAM-1, and itsimulates adhesion fLFA-1 toICAM-1,

but ihas noefct upon the interactions ofLFA-1 with ICAM-2 nor ICAM-3.
