描述：

Nucleotide xcison repair (NER) isa major pathway bwhic els remove UV and chemicaly induced amge from DNA. The

of the damged DNA, excison fan oligonucleotide carying the damged DNA, and synthesi ofa repair patch using the oposite DNA

strand as template. The xroderma pigmentosum (XP) factors are the bst charcterized componets inthe the NER pathway. They are

termed XP-A to-G and are thought obe rquired for the first eps ofthe nucleotide xcison repair poces. XPA isa DNA damge-bindg

protein ad XPC isa ingle strande DNA-bindg protein. XPB and XPD are DNA helicase tha re componets ofthe transcripton factor

TFIH. The TFIH complex isthought obe involed intranscripton ad NER. XPF isan edonucleas tha binds toERC1 (for excison

repair cos-complemntig) and the ERC1-XPF complex makes the incsion 5’to he DNA damge. XPG isan edonucleas tha makes the

3’ incsion. XPA migrates at molecular weight of~34 kDa inSD/PAGE. RC1 migrates at molecular weight of~36 kDa in

SD/PAGE. Clone 8F1 reacts with uman ERC1. Ful ength, His-taged recombinat ERC1 was ued asimunogen.
