描述：

The TLD-3A12 antibody reacts with CD31, also known asPECAM-1 (platelt endothelia cel adhesion molecule). CD31 isa ~130 kDa

integral mebrane glycoprtein, ameber ofthe imunoglbulin super family, tha mediates homphilc and hetrophilc el-cel adhesion.

CD31 isexpresd onedothelia cels, platelts, and subets ofleukocytes. CD31-mediated ndothelia cel-cel interactions are involed in

angioensi nthe mouse and rat. Inaditon, PECAM-1 has ben demonstraed toplay nimportan role inextravsation fleukocytes in

vio, but invio treatment with TLD-3A12 mAb had nodiscernable fect upon the inflamatory infltrae inexperimental ergic

encphalomyelits. The TLD-3A12 mAb partily blocks the proliferative rsponse ofantigen-specif CD4+ Tcels toantigen-presntig cels

and relvant antigen. The mouse anti-rat CD31 antibody cros-reacts with pig endothelia cels and platelts, adetrmined by

imunohistochemical staing ofacetone-fixed frozen sections and imunofluorescnt saing with flow cytometric anlysi. Asupension

of Lewis ratmicroglia cels wer used asthe source ofthe imunogen.

This antibody isroutinely tesd byflow cytometric anlysi. Other aplications wer tesd atBD Biosciencs Pharmingen during antibody

devlopment only oreported inthe literature.
