Detailed Description
Ammonium persulfate forms free radicals when dissolved in water, which are used to initiate polymerization of acrylamide solutions. TEMED, as an electron carrier, is added to catalyze the polymerization reaction. Aqueous solutions of ammonium persulfate are unstable and must be prepared daily for optimum performance. Routine gel preparation requires the frequent weighing of ammonium persulfate in order to prepare a 10% working solution. AMRESCO’s convenient Ammonium Persulfate (APS), 150 mg Tablets allow you to quickly make a 10% solution by adding one tablet to 1 ml of water. AMRESCO also offers a tablet with APS and TEMED combined for ultimate convenience.
