AHP933 is specific for human Bcl-2 interacting mediator of cell death (Bim), also known as Bod.
Bim is a pro-apoptotic protein within the Bcl-2 family, which functions within the intrinsic apotosis pathway. Bim is known to interact with pro-survival proteins including Bcl-2, Bcl-XL and Bcl-w.
Bim is expressed in a variety of cell types, where it is maintained in an inactive conformation by phosphorylation or through binding to the microtubule-associated dynein motor complex. Upon certain apoptotic stimuli, Bim is released from microtubules and mediates caspase-dependent apoptosis.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP933 detects a band of approximately 22kDa in K562 and A549 whole cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human Bim were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
