AHP839 is specific for human minichromosome maintenance deficient 3 (MCM3).
MCM3 is a member of the highly conserved mini chromosome maintenance (MCM) family of proteins that are involved in the initiation and control of eukaryotic DNA replication. MCM proteins form a hexameric protein complex which is a key component of the pre-replication complex. Acetylation of MCM3 by MCM3 associated protein (MCM3AP) inhibits the initiation of DNA replication and cell progression.
