AHP666 recognises an epitope within the OX-2 domain of the human amyloid precursor protein (APP).
APP is a 110-130kD transmembrane protein. Processing of APP by beta-secretase gives rise to amyloidogenic beta-amyloid proteins, deposition of which are characteristic of Alzheimer's disease.
APP exists in a number of isoforms, not all of which contain the OX-2 domain.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
