AHP627 recognises an epitope within the extracellular domain of human DC-SIGN. DC-SIGN was designated CD209 at the 7th leucocyte typing workshop.
AHP627 detects a band of approximately 44 kD by western blot.

Antisera to human DC-SIGN were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
