AHP601 recognises the N-terminal region of the cell cycle checkpoint kinase CHK2. Chk2 becomes activated by ATM in response to DNA damage. Activated Chk2 then phosphorylates and activates P53. Chk2 has also been reported to regulate BRCA1 a tumour suppressor gene product involved in the susceptibility to hereditary breast cancer.
