AHP495 recognises the Parkinson disease related protein known as Parkin.
Parkin is associated with an early onset form of autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinson disease. Parkin shows some similarity in structure to ubiquitin, and is expressed in various regions of the brain including the substantia nigra, as well as in other tissues such as heart, testes and skeletal muscle.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
This antibody detects the 53kDa native protein and the 70kDa ubiquitinated protein under reducing conditions in human neuroblastoma cell lysates.
