AHP429 recognises a novel Fas binding protein that has been designated DAXX.
DAXX binds specifically to the death domain of Fas and enhances Fas induced apoptosis and activates the Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) pathway. DAXX is widely expressed in both foetal and adult tissues.
This antibody recognises a 120kD major band of DAXX protein in Western blotting of HeLa cell lysates.

Antisera to DAXX were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by ion exchange chromatography.
