AHP362G is specific for human NT-4 (Neurotrophin-4/-5), a 130 amino acid homodimeric cysteine-knot protein and member of the NGF Beta family, expressed highly by the prostate and to a lesser extent by the thymus, skeletal muscle and placenta.
NT-4 is a neurotrophic growth factor structurally related to Beta-NGF, BDNF and NT-3, involved in the development and survival of neurons, through binding to the tyrosine kinase receptor trkB.In vitrostudies have revealed the formation of structurally stable NT4/BDNF and NT4/NGF heterodimers, although their functionin vivohas yet to be determined.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC. Following reconstitution store at -20oC.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human NT-4 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by antigen affinity chromatography.
