Rabbit anti human TGFαis specific for transforming growth factor alpha. TGFα is a 50 amino acid EGF-related polypeptide expressed in a range of tissues, including skin, pancreas, liver, duodenum, salivary glands, urinary and respiratory systems, and the developing and mature central nervous system (CNS).
TGFα is produced by monocytes, keratinocytes and neuronal cells and stimulates the proliferation of a range of epidermal and epithelial cells, through binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). TGFα is mitogenic for multipotent neural progenitors and is involved in astrogliosis (Junier, M., 2000)

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
Rabbit anti human TGF&alpha may be used in Western Blotting applications under either reducing or non-reducing condtions withrecombinant human TGFα(PHP037) as the positive control.
Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC.
After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human TGFα were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
This biotinylated human TGFα antibody may be used in a direct ELISA or as the detection reagent in a sandwich ELISA with apurified human TGFα antibody(AHP284G) as the capture reagent andrecombinant human TGFα(PHP037) as the standard.
