AHP2257 specifically recognises human CD305, otherwise known as LAIR-1 (leukocyte-associated Ig-like receptor-1), a transmembrane protein, expressed by natural killer cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, and T cells, and also by other hematopoeitic cells including B cells, but is not expressed by platelets or erythrocytes.
Although structurally related to other killer cell inhibitory receptors, CD305 does not appear to recognize HLA class I, providing a novel mechanism of HLA class I-independent NK cell regulation. CD305 has been shown to inhibit proliferation, cellular activation and inflammation, and to induce apoptosis in myeloid leukemia cell lines, and found to be expressed at abnormally low levels in naive B cells from HIV-1 infected patients.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP2257 detects a band of approximately 28kDa in Human lymph node cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human CD305 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
