AHP2171 specifically recognises human Bcl-2 associated transcription factor (BCLAF1), otherwise known as BTF, a ubiquitously expressed death-promoting transcriptional repressor which, when overexpressed, interacts with, and represses the transcription of Bcl-2, thereby promoting apoptosis.
BCLAF1 exists in several isoforms, and localizes to both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Studies using this antibody, have demonstrated the existence of a novel SNIP/SkIP associated RNA-processing (SNARP) complex, consisting of SNIP1, SkIP, BCLAF1, THRAP3 and Pinin, which plays a role in the regulation of the G1 phase cell cycle protein, Cyclin D1, seeBracken C.P.et alfor details.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human BCLAF1 was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen.
