AHP2118 specifically recognises human HAX1 (HCLS1-associated protein X-1), a ubiquitously expressed promoter of cell survival, known to directly associate with HS1/HCLS1, and to interact with PKD2 (polycystic kidney disease 2 protein), cortactin, caspase-9, ITGB6 and DNA polymerase beta mRNAs.
HAX1 is essential for maintaining inner mitochondrial membrane potential and implicated as a regulator of myeloid homeostasis, protecting against apoptosis in myeloid cells. Mutations in the HAX1 gene are responsible for autosomal recessive severe congenital neutropenia 3 (SCN3), otherwise known as Kostmann disease.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP2118 detects a band of approximately 33kDa in human kidney, liver and testis cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human HAX1 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
