AHP2069 specifically recognises an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human SIRT4, otherwise known as sirtuin 4, a mitochondrial NAD-dependent ADP-ribosyl transferase, and member of the sirtuin family, which catalyzes the transfer of ADP-ribosyl groups onto target proteins.
Studies have shown that SIRT4 acts as a repressor of GDH (glutamate dehydrogenase) activity in beta cell mitochondria, thereby suppressing amino-acid dependent insulin production.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
