AHP2063 specifically recognises an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human DCTN1, otherwise known as DAP-150, the largest subunit of the dynactin macromolecular complex, which plays a vital role in intracellular transport and cell division, through binding to cytoplasmic dynein and to microtubules.
Studies have shown the importance of dynactin in the efficient functioning of neuronal axons, and mutations in the DCTN1 gene are responsible for the neuromuscular disorder known as progressive lower motor neuron disease (PLMND), and also associated with the brain disorder frontotemporal dementia, and with a possible increase in the risk of developing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP2063 detects a band of approximately 150kDa in human testis and A549 cell lysates
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human DCTN1 (CT) was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared by affinity chromatography.
