AHP2052 recognises human Mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint protein MAD2A (MAD2L1), a 205 amino acid cellular protein belonging to the MAD2 family.
MAD2L1 is involved in cell cycle and cell division processes where it forms a component of the spindle-assembly checkpoint preventing the onset of anaphase until the chromosomes are correctly aligned at the metaphase plate.

Antiserum to human MAD2L1 was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
