AHP1940 recognizes human FAM129A, also widely known as Protein Niban, a 103 kDa nuclear protein belonging to the Niban family of proteins.
FAM129A regulates phosphorylation of a number of proteins involved in translation regulation including EIF2A, EIF4EBP1 and RPS6KB1. Research has indicated that FAM129A may be involved in the endoplasmic reticulum stress response.
FAM129A expression is seen strongly in heart, skeletal muscle, lymphocytes and in the prostate while weaker expression is observed in the colon and spleen. FAM129A is absent in normal kidney and thyroid tissues but is expressed in renal carcinoma cells and thyroid tumours such as papillary thyroid tumours and oxyphilic thyroid tumours.

This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
