AHP1934 recognises human phosphodiesterase 3A (PDE3A) a 125 kDa membrane protein belonging to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family.
Phosphodiesterases play a central role in signal transduction by regulating intracellular levels of the second messengers cyclic AMP (cAMP) and cGMP. PDE3A binds both cAMP and cGMP, however cGMP is a poor substrate and inhibits cAMP hydrolysis.
PDE3A has been implicated in a number of cellular processes, including myocardial contractility, smooth muscle relaxation, platelet activation and meiotic maturation in oocytes. Downregulation of PDE3A may play a role in the progression of heart failure, by promoting cardiac myocyte dysfunction.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Immunohistology
This product does not require protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections. This product does not require antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Human Phosphodiesterase 3A were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
