AHP1918B specifically recognises platelet factor-4 (PF-4), otherwise known as CXCL4, a member of the intercrine alpha (chemokine CXC) family, released from the alpha granules of activated platelets, during platelet aggregation.
PF-4 binds with high affinity to heparin, counteracting its’ anticoagulant effect, thereby promoting blood coagulation, and implicating PF-4 in wound repair. PF-4 acts as a chemotactic factor for neutrophils, monocytes and fibroblasts, and binds wih CXCR3B, a splice variant of the chemokine receptor CXCR3.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at +4oC.
After reconstitution store at -20oC.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
12 months from date of reconstitution.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human PF-4 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
