AHP1855 recognises human Cerebellin-1, known also as CBLN1, Precerebellin or Cerebellin precursor, a secreted membrane protein with a predicted molecular weight of 21kDa.
Cerebellin 1 is required for synapse integrity and synaptic plasticity and for the ER export and secretion of CBLN3. Cerebellin 1 exerts neuromodulatory functions including directly stimulating norepinephrine release via the adenylate cyclase/PKA-dependent signaling pathway; and indirectly enhances adrenocortical secretion in vivo, through a paracrine mechanism involving medullary catecholamine release. Research indicates that Cerebellin 1 may also be involved in a wider range of functions than have been so far demonstrated.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human Cerebellin 1 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
