AHP1710 recognises the human Mitogen activated protein kinase associated protein 1 (MAPKAP1).
MAPKAP1 forms and essential component of the TORC2 complex which plays a critical role in AKT1 'Ser-473' phosphorylation. It is believed to modulate the phosphorylation of PKCA and regulate actin cytoskeleton organization. MAPKAP1 inhibits MAP3K2 by preventing its dimerization and autophosphorylation and also inhibits HRAS and KRAS signaling. MAPKAP1 enhances osmotic stress-induced phosphorylation of ATF2 and ATF2-mediated transcription.
MAPKAP1 is a ubiquitously expressed protein with highest levels being detected in the heart and skeletal muscle. Multiple alternatively spliced isoforms of MAPKAP1 have been identified.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1710 detects bands of approximately 37 and 73kDa in human skeletal muscle lysate.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Human MAPKAP1 were raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
