AHP1588 recognises Human Fractalkine, a 42.2kDa single-pass type1 membrane protein.
Fractalkine, also known as neurotactin and CX3CL1, is a CX3C cytokine found in both a soluble and a membrane-bound form. The soluble form is chemotactic for T-cells and monocytes while the membrane-bound form promotes adhesion of leukocytes to endothelial cells.
Research has also demonstrated that fractalkine is able to suppress the production of nitrous oxide, IL-6 and TNF-alpha in activated microglia suggesting that it may act as an intrinsic inhibitor against neurotoxicity by activated microglia.
Fractalkine is widely expressed in a range of tissues including the small intestine, colon, testis, prostate, heart, brain, lung, skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1588 detects a band of approximately 50kDa in C2C12 cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human Fractalkine was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
