AHP1579 specifically recognises an epitope within the N-terminal (NT) region of human Rad51C, a DNA repair protein and member of the Rad51 gene family, vital in the homologous recombinational repair of double-stranded DNA breaks (DSB) and maintaining genome integrity.
The Rad51 family consists of Xrcc2, Xrcc3, Rad51B, Rad51C, and Rad51D which interact with each other in various combinations, with Rad51C associating with all but Xrcc2. The interaction between Rad51C and Xrcc3 has become a particular focus area for the study of DNA repair in the brain.

It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1579 detects a band of approximately 45kDa in HeLa cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human RAD51C (NT) was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
