AHP1551 recognises Rab3, a group of closely related GTP-binding proteins (Rab3A, Rab3B, Rab3C and Rab3D) involved in regulating membrane traffic. Rab3 proteins are expressed in high levels in the brain and endocrine tissues but are also found elsewhere. They are localised on exocytic vesicles and in the brain they cycle on and off synaptic vesicles in parallel with the release of neurotransmitters. Many functions have been proposed for the Rab3 proteins, from fusion to docking and the biogenesis of vesicles. They are thought to play an important role in presynaptic vesicle trafficking and priming.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1551 detects a band of approximately 27kDa in rat cortex lysate.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Rab3 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
