AHP1531 specifically recognises PUM1 (pumilio-1), an evolutionarily conserved sequence-specific RNA-binding protein and member of the PUF family, which acts as a regulator of specific mRNA translation, through interaction with 3' untranslated regions (UTRs).
The original member of the PUF family, pumilio ofDrosophila melanogaster(DmPUM), was found to be important in the regulation of germ-line stem cell development and neuronal function, suggesting a similar role for vertebrate PUM proteins.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1531 detects a band of approximately 142kDa in HeLa and 3T3 RIPA extracts.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human PUM1 was raised by repeated immunisation of goats with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
