AHP1443 recognises TAR DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP43), a 43 kDa protein that is located in the nucleus. TDP43 is ubiquitously expressed in human tissue, with high levels detected in the lung, pancreas, spleen, placenta and genital tract. AHP1443 recognises the longer of the two TDP43 isoforms identified.
TDP43 is transcriptional repressor protein that binds to chromosomally integrated TAR DNA and represses HIV-1 Transcription. Studies also suggest that TDP43 is involved in the regulation of cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) splicing, probably through the association with UG repeats at the 3’ splice site.
A pathologic form of TDP43 has also been identified, which is a major disease protein in ubiquitinated inclusions characteristic of a range of neurodegenerative diseases.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1443 detects a band of approximately 43kDa in L1210 cell lysate.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
This product should be stored undiluted.
Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
