AHP1384 recognises the human Fanconi Anemia Group G (FANCG), a nuclear protein that is highly expressed in the Thymus and Testis. FANCG, known also as FAG and XRRC9 has a predicted molecular weight of 68.5 kDa.
The members of the Fanconi anemia complementation group do not share sequence similarity but are related by their assembly into a common nuclear protein complex.
FANCG is involved in DNA repair and maybe involved in maintenance of normal chromosome stability and inter-strand DNA cross link repair.
Mutations in the FANCG gene are a cause of Fanconi anemia (FA), a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized by progressive pancytopenia, susceptibly to malignancies, cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA damaging agents and defective DNA repair. FANC complexes are not found in individuals with FA.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1384 detects a band of approximately 69kDa in Hela whole cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human FANCG was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
