AHP1383 recognises the human Fanconi Anemia Group C (FANCC), a member of the Fanconi anemia complementation group which has a predicted molecular weight of 63.4 kDa.
The members of the Fanconi anemia complementation group do not share sequence similarity but are related by their assembly into a common nuclear protein complex.
FANCC is involved in DNA repair and maybe involved in maintenance of normal chromosome stability and inter-strand DNA cross link repair.
Mutations in the FANCC gene are a cause of Fanconi anemia (FA), a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized by progressive pancytopenia, susceptibly to malignancies, cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA damaging agents and defective DNA repair. FANC complexes are not found in individuals with FA.

This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose.
Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1383 detects a band of approximately 63kDa in Hela whole cell lysates. An band of approximately 32kDa may also be observed.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antiserum to human FANCC was raised by repeated immunisation of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
