AHP1368 detects phosphatidylinositol (4,5) bisphosphate 5-phosphatase, A (PIB5PA) also known as PIPP (proline-rich inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase) . PIB5PA functions as a negative regulator of PI3-kinase signalling events that promote neurite elongation and survival, and is thought to regulate the level of inositol and phosphatidylinositol polyphosphates at membrane ruffles.
PIB5PA is constitutively associated with the plasma membrane, and is expressed in a number of tissues including the brain, heart, kidney, stomach, small intestine and lung.
