AHP1339 detects human heat shock protein 90 alpha (HSP90a), one of two HSP90 isoforms together with HSP90b. These isoforms are encoded by different genes and under normal conditions assist the folding of newly synthesised proteins, and are also important in cellular processes such as hormone signalling and cell cycle control.
In response to mutation or environmental stress, HSP90 expression is upregulated as part of the heat shock response, and function to maintain newly destabilised proteins in a folding competent state. HSP90 can also affect the epigenetic state at specific loci, leading to phenotype modulation.
Induction of HSP90a by c-Myc may control the activity of multiple signal pathways involved in cellular transformation.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1339 detects a band of approximately 90kDa.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human heat shock protein 90 alpha were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
