AHP1269 detects human peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ? (PPARG), a member of the nuclear hormone receptor subfamily of transcription factors. Upon activation, PPARG forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs), and functions to regulate transcription of specific gene sequences. PPARG is principally involved in the cellular assimilation of lipids, with key roles in adipocyte differentiation and adipogenesis.
Two alternatively spliced isoforms of PPARG exist, termed PPARG1 and PPARG2, which are identical except for an additional 30 amino acids at the N-terminus of PPARG2. This results in a predominant adipocyte localisation for PPARG2, whilst PPARG1 is ubiquitously expressed.
PPARG has been implicated in the pathology of numerous diseases including obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis and cancer.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to PPAR gamma were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
