AHP1199 recognises Suppressor of cytokine signalling 1 (SOCS1), a 24kDa member of the Suppressor of cytokine signalling family. SOCS1 acts downstream of cytokine receptors and plays a role in the negative regulation of cytokine signalling. It acts mainly on the Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducers and activators of transcription-3 (STAT3) pathway but also inhibits signalling by cytokines such as insulin and toll-like receptors. Furthermore SOCS1 is involved in ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation, plays a role in T cell activation and in the regulation of IL-6, IL-4, IL-12 and IL-15. SOCS1 is expressed ubiquitously and at elevated levels in the spleen, small intestine and peripheral blood leukocytes.

Where this antibody has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the antibody for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Western Blotting
AHP1199 detects a band of approximately 24kDa in human spleen cell lysates.
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to human SOCS1 were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
