AHP1006 recognises an epitope within the C-terminal region (CT) of the 197-amino acid protein AES (amino-terminal enhancer of split), a member of the Groucho/transducin-like enhancer of split (TLE) family of transcriptional regulators, homologous to the amino-terminal domain ofDrosophilaGroucho protein.
The detachment of integrin from the extracellular matrix (ECM), results in loss of cell adhesion and cell death, termed anoikis. Studies show that this type of apoptosis is controlled by integrin-mediated signaling pathways and that the mitochondrial protein Bit1 (Bcl-2 inhibitor of transcription), released into the cytoplasm during apoptosis, forms a complex with AES, to induce cell death. The effects of the interaction between Bit1 and AES can be counteracted by the attachment of cells to fibronectin through integrin a5ß1.

AHP1006 detects a band of approximately 22kDa in human 293 cell lysates
Storage
Store at +4oC or at -20oC if preferred.
Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.
This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life
18 months from date of despatch.
Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to Human AES (CT) were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
