This product, a Rabbit anti Mouse TNFα antibody, is specific for Tumour Necrosis Factor alpha, a 17.3kDa multi-functional pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily secreted by macrophages, but also produced by T and B lymphocytes, activated monocytes and fibroblasts.
TNFα exists in both a transmembrane and mature soluble form and has many biological properties, including activation of transcription factor NF-KappaB, the induction of apoptosis in various tumour cell lines and the stimulation of cell differentiation and proliferation under certain conditions. Studies have revealed a role for TNFα in inflammation, septic shock, autoimmune disease and rheumatoid arthritis.

Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.

Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to mouse TNFα were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
This product, a Rabbit anti Mouse TNFα (biotin conjugate) antibody, may be used in a direct ELISA or as the detection reagent in a sandwich ELISA withrecombinant mouse TNFα(PMP24) as the standard andRabbit anti Mouse TNFα (purified)(AAM19GA) as the capture reagent.
