9530-0577 is specific forVaricella zostervirus (VZV) which is one of eight herpes viruses known to infect humans (and other vertebrates). It commonly causes chicken-pox in children and both shingles and postherpetic neuralgia in adults.
When 9530-0577 is used in IF, fluorescence is seen in both the nucleus and cytoplasm.
